Case Manager Coordinator
Sylvia Becerra-Prossor has been working in the field of Addiction for over 35 years with an emphasis on Perinatal Substance Use. The majority of her career, she has worked at LA Biomed/Options for Recovery, starting when it was a pilot project in 1990 to present. She is currently the Case Manager Coordinator, overseeing the Case Management Department, conducting Intakes/Orientation and doing outreach. She has also co-facilitated The Shame and Trauma groups, which are specialized, closed groups for the women attending treatment. As part of the team, she provides Clinical Supervision and is dedicated to provide staff with guidance and support to grow and thrive as professionals. Ms. Becerra-Prossor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, a Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health and certification in Alcohol and Drug Studies from UCLA’s Extension Program. She is also a member of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) and National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC). Ms. Becerra-Prossor is committed to helping women and women and their children who have been affected by the disease of addiction to change their lives and become self-sufficient, productive women/mother’s in recovery and their communities.
